Smart Reading is a set of 6 graded readers designed to build reading-confidence in Year One to Year Six pupils. Each book consists of 50 short, interesting passages that are followed by at least two relate activities.

The passages are based on the required topics for each level. The exposure to proper vocabulary and grammar further serves to boost pupil's confidence in their ability to read. The frequent use of words from the respective level's vocabulary lists aids in instilling an interest in reading. However, to provide challenge to more advanced readers and to encourage pupils to develop their dictionary skills, new words have been introduced in a subtle manner.

The activities, besides promoting understanding of the passages. are designed to provide pupils with ample oppurtunity to practise their thinking and writing skills. They are an extension of the activities pupils are familiar with and help in reinforcing the learning objectives of the primary school English syllabus.
